The Effect of Peri-Implant Disease on Oxidative Stress Markers Levels in Peri-Implant Sulcus Fluid: A Cross-Sectional, Pilot Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Peri-implant diseases are inflammatory as periodontal disease. An array of oxidative stress markers has been examined in the disease and health tissues. The purpose study was to test whether peri-implant conditions have an impact on sulcus fluid markers.Materials Methods: A total 44 participants were included study. Collected samples divided 3 groups, 14 for healthy implants; 15 mucositis; peri-implantitis. In clinical examination, plaque index (PI), modified bleeding (mSBI), probing (BOP), pocket depth (PPD), gingival (GI), (MPI) measured. (PISF) collected evaluating measuring biochemical analysis oxidant status (TOS) antioxidant capacity (TAOC) (OSI).Results: TOS level PISF statistically significantly higher peri-implantitis when compared group (p=0.041). There no significant difference (p>0.05) between groups terms TAOC OSI parameters. Conclusions: As a result current study, it can be said that, due its character, increase (PISF). Multicentered research is needed explain which immunological mechanism triggers system order understand potential role inflammation.

Prevalence of peri-implant disease on platform switching implants: a cross-sectional pilot study.
The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of mucositis and peri-implantitis associated with the use of two types of implants-conventional versus platform switching after one year of loading. A longitudinal study of 64 implants in 25 patients was performed. Clinical variables, such as clinical pocket depth and bleeding upon probing, plaque, mobility, gingival recession, clinical a...
متن کاملLevel of Oxidative Stress Markers in Peri-Implant Crevicular Fluid and Their Correlation with Clinical Parameters
OBJECTIVES Increased levels of oxidative stress markers in periodontitis have been reported by recent studies. Malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) are both increased during oxidative stress. The aim of this study was to detect and measure the level of oxidative stress markers in peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF). Their correlation with peri-implant clinical parameters was in...
متن کاملReceptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa B Ligand (RANKL) Levels in Peri-Implant Crevicular Fluid
Background: Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL) is one of the key cytokines in the induction of osteoclastogenesis both in vitro and in vivo.Several reports indicated the presence of sRANKL in gingival crevicular fluid of patients with periodontal diseases. Objective: To determine the presence of RANKL in peri-implant crevicular fluid samples of implants with peri-implan...
متن کاملVolumetric Analysis of Gingival Crevicular Fluid and Peri-Implant Sulcus Fluid in Healthy and Diseased Sites: A Cross-Sectional Split-Mouth Pilot Study
BACKGROUND Researchers have recently drawn attention to the analysis of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and peri-implant sulcus fluid (PISF) for the implementation of the diagnosis of periodontal and peri-implant disease. Nevertheless, the measurements of volume and biomarkers concentration can be critically biased when data collected from studies with parallel group design are compared, given ...
متن کاملPeri-implant disease: the basics.
Peri-implant disease includes the spectrum of conditions that affect the gingiva and underlying bone at the site of implant placement. Despite the tremendous growth in fixed implant utilization over the last two decades, few implant publications address the topic of peri-implant disease from an all-encompassing approach. This article summarizes current research on the topic and provides backgro...
